Dheepa Rammohan Maturi

Though born in New York City, Dheepa Maturi grew up in a small Ohio town. Eventually she received a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
Maturi recalls the decade following graduation as a hectic one, interweaving business law practice in a variety of contexts – law firms, medical settings and private practice -- with a family life with her husband and two sons. She also recalls that, during the rare pauses in her day, she longed for something new.
One evening, she looked into her tea cup, at the tea leaves twisting and unfurling in water, and she saw a different future -- one filled with creativity and change. She found herself remembering the pleasures of drinking tea in her youth -– of watching simple ingredients coming together and becoming something extraordinary. And she found herself dreaming about introducing that experience to others in a fresh, new way.
Thus began a new life of entrepreneurship, with its accompanying challenges and excitement. But Maturi will never forget the lovely cup of tea that taught her that even the smallest moments carry the potential for our own transformation.
Lakshmi Govind Stockham
Owner & Vice-President
Lakshmi Govind-Stockham grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a B.B.A., she consulted for many years in various contexts, including Ernst & Young, Kana and Capgemini. During her consulting years, she authored and published various articles on information management.
Govind-Stockham also holds a M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business with concentrations in Finance, Strategy and Entrepreneurship. This education was intended to serve as springboard to a new venture. But life certainly had its twists and turns, and after graduation, Govind-Stockham was blessed with two beautiful girls. With daughters came a new perspective and a desire for change.
Govind-Stockham had aspirations of becoming an entrepreneur since her youth. Maybe it was in her blood or due to her family’s encouragement -- either way, this deep-seated desire finally surfaced and unleashed itself with Chai, Baby!
